This course is a comprehensive exploration study on the history of the Black Church in American society spanning from the beginning of slavery in America until the start of the Civil Rights Movement. The purpose is to inform the uninformed and educate all interested parties, while celebrating the contributions of the Black Church to America and the world as a ministry and an institution since its inception. This course will cover the following subject matter during the above period: the birthing of the black church, key contributions of the black church in American society, and key leaders.
