    Students will enter a discussion of general teaching methodologies to learn how to teach with life-changing impact and effectively communicate any relevant truth. Practical application of various teaching methods will be used during the course.

  • CO-869: Issues in Human Sexuality

    An exploration of the theological, biological, social, and cultural foundations of human sexuality, particularly as related to pastoral counseling. Topics include emotional and sexual intimacy, sexuality and singleness, marital sexuality, sexual orientation and identity, sexual addictions, sexual disorders, and sexual betrayal and abuse. Biblical principles and practices for guiding, sustaining, healing, and reconciling individuals within the context of the local church, chaplaincy, or parachurch ministry will be discussed.

  • MS-858: Vision and Strategic Planning

    This course will examine the importance of having a shared vision and how a leader can communicate it and implement it using a systematic process to develop it within a ministry. The strategic planning process, based on the vision, will be examined in detail and put into practice for the student’s ministry.

  • CO-767: Counseling Women

    This course examines the most common problems women bring to counseling, including developmental and situational crises. It explores biblical perspectives and an awareness of the needs of women through awareness for these situations.

  • CO-864: Crisis Counseling (M3)

    The student gains an understanding of the anatomy of crisis and learns to apply biblical principles. Attention is focused on the crises of PTSD, trauma, depression, spousal abuse, suicide, death, divorce and adolescence.

  • MS-885: Theology & Praxis on Evangelism and Discipleship

    This course is designed to help students understand the principles of corporate evangelism and discipleship and how to join Jesus in changing the world through disciple-making. This class will complement the undergraduate course MS-425 Living the Great Commission, Evangelism and Discipleship, which will focus on personal evangelism and disciple-making.

  • MS-892: Servant Leadership/MS-452: Spiritual Leadership (M3)

    In this course, the student will be studying numerous Scriptures dealing with Christ as the Servant Leader; wrestling with passages speaking to what it means to be a Servant Leader as Christ was; and leaning the tools from the Scriptures that help one become a Servant Leader. The student will also learn and begin to apply a new set of definitions related to being a Servant Leader and, in specific, the development of their own Transcendent There - the ultimate goal of every Christian. Through the videos, reading, and engagement with the material presented, the student will be better equipped to be a Christlike Servant Leader and to establish their own Transcendent There.

  • MS-891: Field Practicum 2

    Field Practicum 2 is required of all students in MM and MDiv degree programs and serves as a structured and significantly enhanced learning experience that is to be developed for a church or approved Christian ministry venue. The Practicum 2 course provides an opportunity for the student to create and develop a ministry project that could be implemented within a current ministry or applied in a future ministry context. Creative projects have been developed for churches, mission fields, counseling, teaching, church leadership, skills development, evangelism, and discipleship. Approved projects have included online Bible studies, new member training, marriage conferences, children's ministries, study guide workbooks, media resources for distance education, women's ministry training, and leadership training. The Practicum is taken during the final year of academic degree program studies. 

  • MS-854: Pastoral Ministries

    A practical study of key areas of pastoral ministry designed to equip pastors to administer effectively the day-to-day tasks of a typical church ministry. 

  • OT-513: Old Testament History

    A study of the Old Testament history (Genesis through Esther) with an emphasis on the setting, genre, structure, key dates and persons, biblical theology, and key events of these books. Special attention will be given to the nature and development of the covenants, the development of the monarchy, and the rise and fall of Israel and Judah.

  • OT-773: Elementary Hebrew 2

    A continuation of study of the basic principles of biblical Hebrew followed by an introduction to Hebrew syntax, textual criticism and to the basic tools and methods of lexical analysis.
